How to Convert a PDF to PowerPoint Slides

Turn each page of a PDF into a PowerPoint slide so you can present, annotate and reuse it — free and private.

Pitch decks, brochures and training material are often shared as PDFs. To present one with speaker notes, add your own slides, or reuse pages in another deck, you need it in PowerPoint.

How to convert PDF to PowerPoint

  1. Open the free PDF to PowerPoint converter.
  2. Choose your PDF.
  3. Pick Match PDF pages (keeps the original shape) or 16:9 widescreen.
  4. Set the image resolution — 150 DPI is sharp on most screens; go higher for large displays.
  5. Click Convert to PowerPoint and open the .pptx in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides.

Image slides — what that means

Each page becomes a full-slide, high-resolution image, so the design looks exactly like the PDF — fonts, colours and layout intact. The trade-off: existing text isn't editable as text. You can still:

  • Add speaker notes to every slide
  • Place new text boxes, arrows and highlights on top
  • Reorder, hide or delete slides
  • Insert your own slides between them

If you need the text itself, run the PDF through PDF to Word as well.

Choosing the slide shape

If the PDF was made as a 16:9 deck, either option works. For A4 documents, "Match PDF pages" avoids letterboxing; "16:9" centres each page on a widescreen slide with margins.

Why browser-based PDF tools are safer

Most online PDF sites upload your file to their servers. Pyalm's PDF tools run entirely in your browser — the file is read, processed and saved on your own device and never sent anywhere. That matters for contracts, invoices, bank statements and ID documents.

Training with slides?

If your PDFs are training material, Pyalm Learn turns slides and videos into structured courses with quizzes, progress tracking and automatic certificates — under your own brand.
