Sending a Word file means trusting that the recipient has the same fonts, the same version of Word, and won't accidentally edit it. Sending a PDF means it looks exactly how you intended, everywhere.
Why send PDFs
- Looks the same on phones, Macs, Windows and in email previews.
- Can't be edited by accident — important for quotes and agreements.
- Hides tracked changes and comments that might still be lurking in a .docx.
- Smaller and universally opened — no Office licence needed.
How to convert Word to PDF
- Open the free Word to PDF converter.
- Choose your .docx file — a preview appears with headings, lists, tables and images.
- Click Save as PDF, then choose Save as PDF as the destination in the print dialog.
- Turn off "Headers and footers" in the dialog for a clean result.
The document is converted in your browser and printed by your browser's own PDF engine — nothing is uploaded.
What converts
Headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, bulleted and numbered lists, tables and embedded images. Page headers/footers, text boxes and exact fonts may differ; for pixel-perfect output, Word's own File → Save as → PDF is the gold standard.
Old .doc files
The converter reads modern .docx files only. Open a .doc in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.
Before you send
- Check the file name — "Quotation-AlNoor-Q1042.pdf" beats "Document1.pdf".
- Combine attachments with Merge PDF.
- Sign it with Sign PDF instead of printing and scanning.
- Protect sensitive files with Protect PDF.
Why browser-based PDF tools are safer
Most online PDF sites upload your file to their servers. Pyalm's PDF tools run entirely in your browser — the file is read, processed and saved on your own device and never sent anywhere. That matters for contracts, invoices, bank statements and ID documents.
Still building quotes and invoices in Word?
Word templates break, numbering gets duplicated and nobody knows which version was sent. Pyalm Books creates quotations, invoices and statements from your data, numbers them correctly, and emails professional PDFs in one click.
