Printing a document, signing it, scanning it and emailing it back takes ten minutes and produces a crooked, grey copy. Signing digitally takes thirty seconds and looks better.
How to sign a PDF
- Open the free Sign PDF tool and choose your document.
- Create your signature: draw it with your mouse or finger, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a photo of your signature (the white background is removed automatically).
- Click where it should go. Drag to move; use the corner handle to resize.
- Add the Date or your printed name with the Text tool.
- Click Download PDF.
Your signature exists only in your browser tab — it isn't saved or uploaded.
Tips for a professional signature
- Sign slowly on a trackpad or phone; the pad smooths pressure.
- Upload a scan of your real signature on white paper for the most authentic look.
- Keep the size realistic — about the width of the signature line.
- Add your company stamp with the Image tool; create one with the free Seal Generator.
Electronic vs digital signatures
| Electronic signature | Digital (certificate) signature | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An image or mark of your signature on the document | Cryptographic signature tied to a verified identity |
| Examples | This tool, scanned signatures | UAE PASS, Aadhaar eSign, DSC tokens |
| Typical use | Quotes, LPOs, delivery notes, offer letters, internal approvals | Regulated filings, some government and property transactions |
The UAE (Federal Decree-Law 46 of 2021) and India (IT Act 2000) both recognise electronic signatures for many commercial documents, but certain transactions require certificate-based signatures. This is general information, not legal advice — check what the recipient or regulator requires for important contracts.
Why browser-based PDF tools are safer
Most online PDF sites upload your file to their servers. Pyalm's PDF tools run entirely in your browser — the file is read, processed and saved on your own device and never sent anywhere. That matters for contracts, invoices, bank statements and ID documents.
From signed quote to invoice in one click
Signing quotations and LPOs is usually the step before invoicing. Pyalm Books converts an accepted quotation into a tax invoice instantly, with your logo, stamp and signature on every PDF.
