How to Split a PDF: Extract Pages or Save Each Page Separately
Three ways to split a PDF — extract selected pages, split by ranges, or burst every page into its own file — free and without uploading.

Large PDFs often contain far more than the person you're sending them to needs. Splitting lets you share just the relevant pages — the signed page of a contract, two months of a bank statement, one chapter of a manual.
Three ways to split
| Mode | What you get | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Extract pages | One new PDF with the pages you click | Sending specific pages, removing pages |
| By ranges | One PDF per range (e.g. 1-3, 4-6, 7-) | Splitting a combined scan into separate documents |
| Every page | One PDF per page, in a ZIP | Separating a batch of scanned invoices or receipts |
How to split a PDF
- Open the free Split PDF tool and choose your file.
- Pick a mode. For extracting, click the page thumbnails you want; for ranges, type something like
1-3, 4-6, 7-. - Download the result.
How to delete pages from a PDF
There's no separate "delete" step needed: in Extract pages, select every page except the ones you want removed, then download. Use Select all and click to deselect the unwanted pages.
Range syntax
5— a single page2-4— pages 2, 3 and 48-— page 8 to the end1-3, 7, 10-— combine with commas (in Ranges mode, each comma-separated part becomes its own file)
Practical examples
- Send your accountant only the VAT-period months from an annual bank statement.
- Split a 40-page scan of mixed supplier invoices into one file per invoice.
- Share the signature page of an agreement without the commercial terms.
Splitting copies pages without re-rendering them, so quality is unchanged.
Why browser-based PDF tools are safer
Most online PDF sites upload your file to their servers. Pyalm's PDF tools run entirely in your browser — the file is read, processed and saved on your own device and never sent anywhere. That matters for contracts, invoices, bank statements and ID documents.
Stop handling business PDFs by hand
Most business PDFs are invoices, quotations, receipts and statements. Pyalm Books generates them for you — VAT-compliant, numbered, emailed to the customer and stored — so there's nothing to merge, rename or fix afterwards.
