Approvals
Events in Abu Dhabi are approved by Abu Dhabi authorities, not Dubai's DET. Depending on the event, that typically involves the emirate's culture and tourism authority, plus the venue and other bodies such as police and civil defence. Confirm the current requirements with the authority and your venue early, and allow at least as much time as you would in Dubai.

Audience and timing
Check for clashes with major Abu Dhabi events and public holidays, and consider travel time if you're drawing an audience from Dubai.
