How to Build an Event Budget (With a Free AED Calculator)
A step-by-step way to budget an event in Dubai: every cost line, how much contingency to add, how VAT affects ticket revenue and how to work out break-even, using a free calculator.

Event budgets go wrong because of the line nobody wrote down, not the big costs. The free Event Budget Calculator starts you with the usual UAE cost lines, so you only have to fill in the numbers.
Step 1: list every cost

Step 2: add contingency
Add 10–15%. First-time events, outdoor venues and international talent deserve the top of that range.
Step 3: model revenue honestly
Ticket prices in the UAE include 5% VAT, which you collect for the FTA. The calculator strips it out (net price = price ÷ 1.05) before counting revenue, then adds sponsorship and other income.
Step 4: read the break-even
Break-even tickets = (total budget − sponsorship) ÷ net ticket price
If break-even is more than about 70% of your capacity, the event is risky. Cut costs, raise prices or find more sponsorship now.
