How to Choose an Event Ticketing Platform in the UAE: 15 Questions to Ask

A neutral checklist for choosing event ticketing software in Dubai and the UAE — fees, approvals, payments, VAT, data ownership, check-in, WhatsApp, support and onsite help.

There are many ways to sell tickets in the UAE, from global platforms and local marketplaces to venue systems and custom setups. Instead of comparing brand names, compare what matters for your event. Ask every provider these 15 questions.

Fees and money

  1. What are the total fees per ticket, including payment processing, and who pays them, you or the buyer?
  2. When do I get paid, and how are refunds and chargebacks handled?
  3. Are prices shown in AED with VAT and are tax invoices issued automatically?

Compliance

  1. Can ticket categories and quantities be locked to my approved permit setup in Dubai?
  2. Do you help with permits and ticket approval, or am I on my own? See how to get a DTCM code.

Your customers and data

  1. Do I own my attendee data and can I export it at any time?
  2. Is the ticket page on my own domain and brand, or inside a marketplace next to competitors?
  3. How is personal data protected? See event data privacy.

Buyer experience

  1. Does checkout work well on mobile, with Apple Pay and Google Pay?
  2. Can tickets be delivered on WhatsApp, not just email?
  3. Is Arabic supported?

Event day

  1. Does check-in work offline, and how fast is it per guest?
  2. Do you offer faster entry such as wristbands or face check-in?
  3. Will someone be onsite if something goes wrong?

Support

  1. How do I reach support, and how quickly do they respond on event day?

Score them

Give each provider a score out of 5 for every question that matters to you. The right choice is rarely the one with the lowest headline fee.
